# What do I do when I have an indoor swimming pool or hot tub?

## The best approach in these situations is to ensure that the space is equipped with a dehumidification system to handle the moisture.

Although it is important to make sure that the attic ventilation system is performing properly in this case, the attic ventilation system will not control the moisture given off by the pool. A swimming pool or hot tub will evaporate extreme amounts of moisture into the air. This moisture will migrate into the attic and could cause problems because an attic ventilation system will rarely be moving enough air through an attic to exhaust the amount of moisture entering. The best approach in these situations is to ensure that the space is equipped with a dehumidification system to handle the moisture. Not only will it help prevent problems with the roof, it will also lower the amount of condensation on windows and walls, which will improve the life of the window sill, etc.
