Where is the fan blade positioned on a belt-drive whole-house fan compared to the motor on a whole-house fan?

The fan blade is centered in the fan shroud beneath the struts on the whole house fan

The fan blade is centered in the fan shroud beneath the struts. Approximately 1/3 of the fan blade depth should be above the top edge of the fan shroud. The pulley that is mounted to the fan shaft is located above the struts and should be in horizontal alignment with the pulley mounted on the motor shaft. When installed correctly, the motor is located above the struts (inverted from its shipped orientation) and is mounted to the struts via the motor mounting bracket. The final motor position on the struts is determined by the tension of the belt.
