If it's not possible to properly balance the ridge vent with sufficient intake, what are my options?
You could reduce the overall width of the ridge vent slot opening if there is not enough intake airflow to support it.
In the situation where there is not enough intake for the ridge vent length available, you could reduce the width of the slot cut into the ridge (reduce it from the recommended 1.5" to 1" for truss construction; or reduce it from .75" to .5" on each side of the board for ridge board construction). Still run the ridge vent from end-to-end on the roof peak for best cosmetic appearance.
