Could ShingleVent II be cut in half to work like Flash FilterVent without making the product warranty void?

The product warranty would be void but the application likely will work just fine.

ShingleVent II has been altered (cut) in the field by contractors to perform like Flash FilterVent in a roof-to-wall application. Air Vent believes it would work fine but we do not have step-by-step installation guidance. The product warranty would be void.
