Can Air Vent's gable-mount power fan be used in a horizontal position to ventilate my garage through the attic?

There are several concerns using a gable-mount power fan to vent a garage.

Possible concerns: If there are any type of fume producing objects in the garage area (i.e. gas cans, solvents, etc...) the fumes could migrate above the living areas, though this is highly unlikely. If there is a gas water heater, fumes from the burner can migrate above the living areas as well and is more likely. Without a dedicated intake vent (an open window, etc...) the fan won't be able to pull air from the garage and into the attic. The airflow into the garage will need to be exhausted to the outside in an appropriate manner. Finally, gable-mount power fans are designed to be installed vertically not horizontally.
