What is the difference between an F-Channel and a J-Channel?

F-Channel is shaped differently than the J-Channel and they have different applications on a home.

An F-Channel is a soffit support channel installed at the wall.  A J-Channel is a soffit support channel that is installed at the wall or used to finish a run of siding.
