# Is it OK to wait 2 weeks before installing the cap shingles on top of ShingleVent II ridge vent?

## Air Vent does not recommend delaying the installation of the cap shingles on top of ShingleVent II ridge vent.

The cap shingles are supposed to help keep the ridge vent in place and fastened. Minus that for 2 weeks risks wind blow off potentially. Additionally, it's going to get really hot out in the sun (up to 180 degrees F). Air Vent does not recommend this.
