# How would an installer retrofit the internal weather filter into the ridge vent?

## It is best to replace the ridge vent instead of attempting to retrofit the internal weather filter.

The internal weather filter needs to be installed to where it will remain underneath the vent and on top of the roof decking. It will be rather challenging to try to feed the internal weather filter through the airflow slot of the deck to the correct position. It's best to install new product with the internal weather filter already attached to the vent.
