Is it OK to place intake vents in the angled rake of the house?

It is not recommended to place intake vents in the angled rake of the house.

Air Vent does not recommend this application for a few reasons: 1) The angle of the wind approaching the vents in the rake could lead to weather ingestion that is less likely in a horizontal application. 2) Typically rakes do not connect to the main attic so the space being vented would be very small. 3) Since the rakes do not connect to the main attic where would the intake vents have exhaust?
